Lido Isle Yacht Club: SPRING SAILING 2019
Sailing fun for ALL ages and levels!

Spring Sailing Class will be on Sundays beginning on April 14th through June 9th. (See below for individual class dates & times)




All participants must have a 2019 Medical and Liability Release Form on file with the Sailing Director. Please print and return before your sailors first day of class!

Application for Sponsored Jr. Sailor Guest
Applications must be filled out by a LIYC Regular Member every year with an annual fee to be able to participate as a Sponsored Jr. Sailor Guest. Please contact Brooke Sharp, LIYC Sailing Director, at [email protected], for an application.

Novice: (Boat Optional)
This is an all-encompassing, fun-filled class for the first-time sailor. Students will learn sailing basics in the comfort of a boat with an instructor.
Who: 1st Grade and up
When: Sundays, 4/14, 5/5, 5/12, 5/19 & 6/9 | 1:00 – 4:00pm
Price: $350 before 4/1/19

Advanced Beginner Sabot: Pre C-3
Students will build confidence sailing independently in sabots. Instructors will put the “fun” into fundamentals, like rigging, points of sail, knots and sail trim. (No regattas)
Who: 1st Grade and up
When: Sundays, 4/14, 5/5, 5/12, 5/19 & 6/9 | 1:00 – 4:00pm
Price: $350 before 4/1/2019

Sabot Racing Classes:
Sabot sailors (A, B, C1, C2, & C3) are in for boat-handling and lots of fun to get a jump start on summer! Sailors will practice on-the-water racing tactics, participate in spring regattas, and be ready for competitive summer of racing! Includes coaching at Koll Family Spring Dinghy Regatta and Leukemia Cup.
Who: Race-ready students
When: Sundays, 4/14, 4/28, 5/5, 5/12, 5/19, & 6/2 | 1:00 – 4:00pm
Price: $350 before 4/1/2019

CFJ High School Sailing Class:
Beginner & intermediate racers will learn about the exciting world of double-handed sailing. Sailors will learn skipper & crew functions, boat handling, and prepare for summer and high school sailing. The CFJ program is focused on developing high school sailing skills (no spinnakers). The schedule is set around PCISA events – regattas are not included.
Who: 8th Grade – High School
When: Tuesdays & Thursdays, February 3rd-April 25th (No Class 2/19, 2/21; 3/26, 3/28) | 3:45-5:45
Price**: $500
**Prorated late registration available (this class only)

Parent & Me Sailing Classes:
Parents and children will enjoy learning together in a fun and relaxed environment. Instructors will teach boating safety using sailboats and paddle equipment.
Who: Parent + Children 5 years and above
When: Sundays, 4/14, 4/28, 5/5, 5/12, 5/19, & 6/2 | 11:00am – 1:00pm
Price: $500 for 1 adult & 1-2 children (before 4/1/2019) or $550 for 2 adults & 1-2 children
(4 sailors must be registered to make a class!)

420 Sailing Program:
Exciting news! This summer LIYC is working with the other yacht clubs to run a bay-wide 420 Race Program. While we are getting the program in place, Spring 420 sailing courses and private lessons will be offered through BCYC to get sailors prepared for the LIYC 420 Summer Program.   • ALL Sailors must have 2019 Medical and Liability Release forms on file with the Sailing Director. 
  • Mandatory Volunteer hours are required at the Spring Dinghy Koll Regatta. Contact Donna Kleha for volunteer positions at [email protected]
  • Fees are non-refundable after the program starts, no exceptions or prorating. 
  • No class April 21 and May 26.
  • No refunds for dismissal or termination.
